i generally like the hoppy stuff these guys make, but this one is rather underwhelming and generic,i mean, its good beer, tastes good, and is sort of classically fashioned, but it could be made by anyone, nothing particularly remarkable about it, clear and golden in color, with a short white head, and a nose of slightly astringent hops, bitter a little bit, but also dry hoppy and fruit forward, i get a slightly candied element, orange and jellybean, and a little pine, cleaner, and sort of a thin grain element, a flash of floral honey and cereal to it, a little toasted but simple, and the same is true in the flavor. its a bit thin in feel and on the grain side, simple enough, balanced but kind of both sweet and bitter alike, although not particularly intense if that makes sense, not under flavored or anything, but i dont know, sort of muted to me. im having it with a salad, and the bitterness of the greens likes the bitterness of the hops, i reckon it needs a food context to enhance it a little bit. no real negative here, just a crowded style in this market right now and this doesnt jump out to me as anything other than another one...

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.
Batch # 2. Bottle # 22/186.
Pours a clear dark honey orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, honey, and candied citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with honey, candied citrus zest, and cardboard flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is drinkable but seems fairly old based on the taste.
