in some ways i like this even better than the coffee ipa they do. i think for the most part its the quality of the coffee that makes these beers what they are. all probably cold pressed and added post fermentation. the acidity is so low it could really be no other way. i like how it hasnt really effected the color of the kolsch, a brown tint, but still a pale beer. its oozing coffee aroma, sweet and chocolaty, malty and honey-like, but more from the java than the grain. the lighter beer is such a rad format for the coffee to launch from, it flavors the beer and makes it a little sweet even, without adding weight or being interfered with by heavy grain roast and unmalted barley gnarly darkness. its great to see that, and this is insanely drinkable, i could have three or four no problem at all. carbonation is nice and there is a light brown sugar sweetness at the end that balances and lingers. very pleasant brew, good hangover beer, one of a kind. one of fates best beers, and theyve had some good ones here in the early going.
