Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.
Bottle # 225/425.
Pours a hazy golden-orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, honey, and cardboard aromas. Taste is much the same with sweet malt, honey, and cardboard flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with solid flavors, but the smell is fairly boring.

A: This poured a clear copper with a little off white head.
S: It smelled like sweet honey biscuit and nutty toffee, with a little vanilla and oak.
T: It tasted like sweet wild honey and nutty toffee, with some biscuit and vanilla and oak. It had a clean mostly sweet aftertaste with some alcohol warming.
M: It was thick with a little smooth carbonation. Great slick body.
D: This was an interesting brew. Not obvious barrel character, more like an English barleywine or scotch ale. Enjoyable scent and taste with excellent body. But the finish was a little hot, so it must be sipped. Would likely age really well, but ok to drink fresh. Nothing amazing, but still a pleasure to try.
