Presentation: 18oz pint, on tap
Appearance: Murky...and I mean MURKY dark golden/orange beer. The haze is complete; the sediment is so fine you don't really see it in suspension, but this is perhaps the cloudiest beer I've ever seen. I've heard it's something like a pound of strawberries per gallon of beer or something like that, so I guess this makes sense.
Smell: Slightly sweet, wholly-natural fresh strawberry. That is all.
Taste: Light malts, clean lager yeast, and fresh strawberry puree. Not too strong. Not too sweet. Nicely balanced, and ends lightly sweet, but crisp.
Mouthfeel: Light, but not watery. Good summer quaffer.
Drinkability: High
Conclusion: Didn't think there was any way I'd like a strawberry beer; this was actually pretty impressive. It's not gonna win any medals, and it's not a "serious" or "think about it" beer. It is, however, one of the few non-lambic or Belgian-style fruit ales I've found that's worth drinking. Nicely done!
