July 15th, 2015 - A Universal Friend is a high bar to meet, but this is a lovely saison, and friendly for many drinking occasions. Delicate on the nose, it has a slight tanginess with soft saison curves that make this eminently drinkable. And the flavor is akin to the saison style too with a white grape tartness and a soft palate. It is roundly lovely and enjoyable.

I get some white wine from the Pinot Grigio grape. I get great funk, saison flavors from this. Pretty crisp, but wanted more wine qualities in this beer.

No wine flavors come through in the taste at all. Maybe at the very end, but it's so subtle you really need to be looking for it. It's a decent saison despite that, but don't live up to the promise of being wine barrel aged.

Love a saison with the addition of white wine. Grape addition is very nice.
