22 oz bomber into a snifter
This one has been sitting out at higher than ideal cellaring temperature, and it’s still magic
Flavors are all that you’d expect from the symphony of blends, although extended aging has sort of funneled the profile to a singular oaky, molasses-y, maple-y, soda-like beverage. It’s actually more dangerous to throw back. Amazing.

Let's start this year properly. Black, small but stable creamy head. Smells rich, malty, lightly sweet, definitely light bourbon. Good thickness. Taste is rich and complex, plenty of wood, bourbon, some rum. Decent roast, chocolate. I adore this "style".

Had this for the closer while picking up some cans at Modern Times. Broke my rule and reviewed a taster since I wasn’t going to spend $11 for an 8-oz. pour. Untappd description had it as, “Prepare your grill-piece for a dizzyingly complex symphony of mouth-enrapturing, barrel-aged radness. After rigorous research sampling a vast field of potential blends, a power-combo of formidably delicious beers clicked into place like a Rubik’s cube of pure, synergistic flavor-magic: bourbon barrel-aged Devil’s Teeth, Monsters’ Park, Dragon Mask, Speaks with Planets, Modem Tones, Oblivion Ring, and Beastmaster, plus Devil’s Teeth Aged in Barbados Rum Barrels, Monsters’ Park aged in Bourbon/Maple Syrup Barrels, and Dragon Mask Aged in Sherry Barrels. Yeah. The resulting beer is an elixir of miraculous depth, bursting with layer upon layer of decadent magnificence from nose to lingering finish.” Damn. That’s a lot of blends.
Poured a pitch black color with 1-to-2 fingers of khaki tan head. No noticeable bubbles underneath, but hard to see anyway with such a small pour. Good spotty lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled smooth bourbon, vanilla, milk chocolate syrup, leather, red wine barrel, figs, dates, raisin, plum, oak, toffee, caramel, butterscotch and black coffee. (Smell - 4.50)
Tasted so damn smooth. Got milk chocolate syrup, smooth bourbon, vanilla, leathery oak, red wine barrel, figs, raisin, plum, caramel, toffee, semi-char wood, cocoa & black coffee. (Taste - 4.25)
Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, warming finish. (Feel - 5.00)
Really good. Just a world-class blend. (Overall - 4.50)

On tap at Modern Times PDX.
Black with a thin brown head that falls off rapidly leaving little lacing this looks solid. The nose is huge. This is not so much a roasty stout than it is a sweet savory stout. Leather, soy, licorice, an earthy sweetness along with gobs of vanilla are present. Boozy. Some rum like dark brown sugar notes are present. The sweetness forrm the monsters park is noticeable. The palate opens unabashedly boozy with a blend of bourbon and rum with dark caramel, soy and some leather. This is followed by dark fruit with raisin and mild prune with rum. Sweet on the finish, this beer has lingering rum and bourbon note. Quite excellent.
