This unstoppable tropical refresher is loaded with Citra, Galaxy, & Motueka hops. We then took what would already make for a delightfully juicy DIPA and blew it out of the water, adding hefty doses of Pineapple, Mango, Lime, Coconut, & Vanilla. If you’re like, “wow, that kind sounds like the beer-version of a pina colada”, you’re not wrong; it drinks like donning a Carmen Miranda-esque fruit hat and dancing around in a sequined sarong.

Ordered this back on Aug. 22, 2020 on one of the Saturday special releasees. Their email called this, “This unstoppable tropical refresher is loaded with Citra, Galaxy, & Motueka hops. Poured a medium yellow hazy color with two fingers of frothy-to-fizzy off-white head, which dissipated quickly. Could not really see any bubbles coming up from the sides of the glass. Outstanding watery lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled big lime right away. Also pineapple, coconut, vanilla, Motueka, Citra, mango, peach, guava and lemony citrus zest. Much of the same from the can, mainly lime, pineapple and coconut. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted similar to the nose. A lot going on here. In order got lime, coconut, pineapple, vanilla, peach, mango, guava, lemon zest and citrus pulp. Lots of pina colada notes. For mentioned hops Motueka and Citra, and not much Galaxy. Alcohol is well hidden for 8.5 pct. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Juicy, citrusy finish. Clean and refreshing. (Feel - 4.25)
This was an interesting beer, but outstanding overall. Liked it a lot. (Overall - 4.00)

This Special Edition dIPA 8.5% is unique and probably shouldn’t be rated next to others due to the excessive fruitiness making it a summertime brew.
Strong coconut, vanilla, mango, lime and pineapple will make purist run but it’s rather delicious & creamy making you wish you were on the beach in Thailand. In the right mood, it’s a winner.
