This Mosaic-forward take on our beloved Hedge Witch DIPA is a more-than-worthy addition to the series, exploding onto the palate with delightfully assertive notes of mango, tangerine, and peach, balanced by just enough pine to keep the fruit party from getting out of control. Pour some into your sauciest glassware, put your feet up, and prepare to congratulate yourself on your beer choice.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. brandy snifter glass
Price: $21.50 for a 4-pack
From: Modern Times Lomaland in Point Loma (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Sept. 5, 2020; Picked up Sept. 9, 2020
Consumed: Sept. 9, 2020
Misc.: Canned on Sept. 1, 2020
Ordered this on Sept. 5 in the first Saturday special release of September. Gave the regular Hedge Witch a 4.21 back on July 26, 2017 which had Citra and Amarillo, so was expecting even more with Mosaic. Email description read, “This Mosaic-forward take on our beloved Hedge Witch DIPA is a more-than-worthy addition to the series, exploding onto the palate with delightfully assertive notes of mango, tangerine, and peach, balanced by just enough pine to keep the fruit party from getting out of control. Poured a medium yellow hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Just a few bubbles creeping up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Mosaic, berry, rose blossom, floral, bubblegum, trash, mango, stone fruit, pine, dish soap and herbal. More Mosaic, mango and berry from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted almost as good as the nose. Pretty smooth for 9 pct. ABV. In order got Mosaic, mango, mixed berry, rose blossom, floral, stone fruit, bubblegum, pine, dish soap, herbal, trash and hints of spice. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Was back and forth on a few different categories, but still think this was outstanding overall. (Overall - 4.00)
