This outrageously tasty DIPA is a haze-filled festival of Citra, Idaho 7, Crystal, & Simcoe hops. Ready your face for a glorious detonation of stone fruit and tropical awesomeness with undertones of resinous pine that bring the whole thing together in a rather spectacular fashion. If you’re into extremely tasty beers, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this little number right here.

Pours a very cloudy golden amber color with a finger width foamy head. Head retention is good. Lacing is very good. Citrus aroma with some earthiness and very mild resin. Juicy taste. Stonefruit more evident in the taste. There is an earthy, piney resin at the end. Mild bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Pours a hazy golden straw color. Smell is dank and tropical hops, Nice mix of hop grapefruit , mango. Pineapple, berries some pine resin. A soft and medium carbonation with ABV well hidden, was not sure on the WC Vibe here minimal bitterness and fruity.

Picked up a single from the Kings Beer & Wine cooler 11-17-20 for $3.69. Canned 9-25-20; consumed 3-12-21. Cold stored since purchase.

Beer poured a hazy light orange with a nice white head with the original pour.

Nose is a nice tropical and citrus forward hopping.

Taste is a light but significant malt base in which peach tinged hops dominate with orange and mango in the background. Finishes with a nice peach pit bitterness; 6/10 on my scale.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and refreshing.

Overall another solid offering from Modern Times. It held up well despite its age!

One of Modern Times special releases in 2020, I hope they bring this one back. It pours a nice hazy orange with a good head and lacing. Considering the variety of hops used in its brewing, it's not overly hoppy. Modern Times found a good balance between the hoppiness and flavors. Lots of good grapefruits and strong resiney, pine tones, with a hint of caramel in the background. And it has a smooth, only slightly bitter finish.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. snifter glass
Price: $13.99 for a 4-pack
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Oct. 3, 2020
Consumed: Oct. 3, 2020
Misc.: Canned on Sept. 24, 2020

Grabbed a 4-pack of this and a bunch of other stuff from Windmill Farms. This was their October release. Original description on their website read, “This outrageously tasty DIPA is a haze-filled festival of Citra, Idaho 7, Crystal, & Simcoe hops. Ready your face for a glorious detonation of stone fruit and tropical awesomeness with undertones of resinous pine that bring the whole thing together in a rather spectacular fashion. Poured a golden-to-light amber semi-hazy color with four fingers of white rocky head. Could see a few bubbles coming up a long the sides of the glass. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)

First thought on the smell was oh no, something is off like the latest Critical Band and Space Ways releases. Seems the problem lately is more the yeast or malts than the hops, but they’ve been off. Thought that here but was ready to give it a chance. Smelled Simcoe first, followed by Nelson (which is not in the beer, huh). Also dank resin, pine, grapefruit, papaya, Citra, Idaho 7, herbal, black pepper and garlic. Looking up Crystal characteristics, was getting that pine and black pepper. Much better on the nose as it went down and even better from the can. (Smell - 4.00)

First thing on the taste was it wasn’t off like Space Ways and Critical Band. Second thought was that it was a boozy 8 pct. ABV. In particular got bitter pine, dank resin, black licorice, anise, Simcoe, black pepper, papaya, grapefruit, Citra, herbal, Idaho 7 and stone fruit. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Bitter finish. (Feel - 4.00)

OK. Normally this would be a slightly let down beer from Modern Times but looking at their latest seasonal releases (not their special ones), this was better. Outstanding overall. (Overall - 4.00)

Cloudy golden yellow body. Fairly sweet caramel, light pine, medium grapefruit and floral notes that linger through the backend and becomes fairly herbal. A duality of sweet up front, bitter on the backend, something missing in the middle/transition.

16oz canned 9-24-20. Opened 11-26-20.
1" fluffy white head, dense and with very good retention.
Vivid, opaque orange-gold. Fully laced.
Fully integrated pour, Modern Times is very consistent with this, no sludge to worry about at the bottom of the cans.
Very muted aroma, mainly orange is what I'm picking up early.
Some stone fruit, peach and apricot...marmalade. Glazed donut.
Orange, some sweet pineapple flavor, fairly subdued and one-dimensional.
Medium-full body, soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Slight heat from 8%.
Low but persistent bitterness in a fairly lengthy semi-sweet finish.
Good to Very Good.
Bumping up Taste - this one grew on me each can through the 4pk.
Very Good.
