This truly magnificently imperial stout was lovingly lavished with ungodly amounts of Madagascar vanilla, making for a luxurious beverage exploding with all kinds of desserty richness. Prepare to be blown away.

Pours a dark black, light brown head, good carbonation, head does not stick around.

Disappointed in the smell, was really hoping to get more. Very faint notes of vanilla.

Good texture. Some thickness, not too much. Good taste. Creamy. Nothing overwhelming, vanilla is a pleasant addition to a good stout.

Overall a fine beer.

12oz can from Steve. Near black pour with a slight beige head. Aroma is a blend of vaniila, chocolate and roasty malts. Vanilla prominent in the taste, rich sweet flavors on top of a silky smooth stout. Really nice.

Grabbed a can of this after picking up some other beers on a recent trip to Modern Times. There were three different options and went with Madagascar over Ugandan and Tahitian without looking at the descriptions or ratings. The online description read, “This truly magnificently imperial stout was lovingly lavished with ungodly amounts of Madagascar vanilla, making for a luxurious beverage exploding with all kinds of desserty richness. Prepare to be blown away.”

Poured a pitch black color with 1-to-2 fingers of khaki-tan frothy head, which dissipated rather quickly. Could see some nice-looking bubble streams creeping up slowly along the sides of the glass. Outstanding spotty lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled vanilla, milk chocolate, cocoa and hints of caramel. Not much more, but not sure I needed anything more. Much of the same from the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted slightly better than the nose. In order got vanilla, milk chocolate, cocoa, chocolate milk and hints of caramel. (Taste - 4.00)

Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.75)

This was an excellent beer overall. Really liked this. (Overall - 4.25)

A powerful vanilla stout - very easy to drink, but a bit too much vanilla for me - perfect size being a 12 ounce can!

Thanks to Dimidiata for this one, from a recent ninja box during NBS BIF #12. 12oz can (dated 6/30/20) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a solid black color, as expected, with just the thinnest cap of tan head that low retention and no lacing.

Slight hints of chocolate at the front of the nose, with the malts being solid. The touted vanilla, was hidden at first, but became more apparent after a moment.

Pretty similar on the tongue, more chocolate than vanilla, and a noticeable alcohol burn at the back end.

The body was full, but not as full as I expected, smooth, with a sweet-ish finish. The burn lingered a bit too long for my tastes.

Drinkability was good, depending on ones tolerance for the ABV and burn.

Overall, a pretty nice brew. I probably wouldn't have two-in-a-row, but would try again. Worth a shot if you see it.
