Pours a deep brown, very bubbly, small head that quickly leaves.
As it warmed, nice smell of cocoa, vanilla, sweet comes through.
Very smooth. Thick. Nice and easy to drink.
Good beer.

Modest head production and poor retention.
Aroma is fairly muted, but what is there is quite inviting - just restrained. Chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, cola, and coconut.
For all the aroma hides, this absolutely explodes on the palate. It's a decadent and sweet dessert stout. Waves of chocolate, vanilla frosting, toasted malt, toffee, brown sugar, coffee, cream, cola. The coconut is more of an accent than a main feature, but I don't mind that; it's a complementary tone, and it works.
Thick and smooth. Very low aggressiveness; you can definitely sip and savor. Could use a bit more chewiness.
This is excellent! It's definitely a sweet dessert stout (a good argument could be made for pastry stout), but when you sub-name a beer "Chocolate Cake Edition - Cocoa and Coconut," I think you know what you're getting into.

Oily black with a thin oatmeal brown head. Smell is very sweet dark chocolate with coconut, ganache, and hints of black currant. Tastes very sweet, sickly even, german chocolate cake, very intense, completely overwhelms the palate. Feel is sugary, oily, cool, and smooth. Just too sweet for me, too bad because I liked others in the pharaoh ascendent series
