This dark lager had a wonderful 3-month stint in one of our oak foeders. We could have stopped there and had a very tasty beer, but we didn’t. We also laced this singular beverage with a small amount of barrel-aged stout, ramping up the complexity to new and previously unknown heights. The end result is a beer that is delightfully malty and simultaneously crushable, accented by a pleasant oakiness. Just trust us, it’s not something you’ll want to miss.

Misc.: Canned on March 15, 2021
Ordered a 4-pack of this and two other lagers on a recent Modern Times release. The description was “This dark lager had a wonderful 3-month stint in one of our oak foeders. Poured a dark-to-very dark brown color with one finger of khaki-tan fizzy head. Could see some bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Bad watery lacing. Poor retention. (Sight - 2.75)
Smelled big oak, like a barrel-aged stout (ha, then actually read the description I copied and pasted). Also wood, cocoa, milk chocolate, black coffee, chocolate milk, hints of black licorice and vanilla. Not as good out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Man. This is like a mini barrel-aged stout. Got big oaky wood, cocoa, milk chocolate, vanilla, coffee, chocolate milk and just a touch of black licorice. So much flavor for 5 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.50)
Light body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter, oaky finish. (Feel - 5.00)
This was such a great beer for what it was. Glad I got a 4-pack. World-class. (Overall - 4.50)
