22 oz bomber into a rock glass
Knock-out Chaos Grid variety. This is the least pastry-ish in the series so far…not that MT doesn’t make killer cakes-in-a-brew, but it’s nice to imbibe on something a little vintage (if one is allowed to call ‘original’ BBA stouts vintage).
Has a chocolate milk bouquet, but then becomes a molasses-bomb on the palate with notes of carob and bittersweet cocoa. Surprisingly short, clean finish for the style, with subtle chocolatey aspects lingering.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like milk chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, oak and baking spices, vanilla, and coffee.
The barrel on this is pretty phenomenal, with a great spiced oak character, some soft vanilla, caramel, and an almost spiced cookie like flavor. There’s lots of dark and milk chocolate, some light roast, a touch of fruitiness.
This is pretty thick and creamy, with no real booziness, and a great drinkability.
I haven’t had too many barrel aged stouts in wheated (or durum’d) whiskey barrels, and they do some great work here.
