L: Basically pink... Lovely color... Low carbonation with mild but consistent nucleation. Just shy of crystal clear.
S: Tangy yeast and barley malt fermentation, with the slightest hint of strawberries (turns out it's apple, peach, and cranberry)
T: Twice as sour as it is sweet, but after your palate adjusts it is very well balanced. The apple/cranberry is tart to begin with, and I'm supposing the fruit is fermented with the barley. The peach adds a touch of sweetness which enhances the drinkability.
F: The sugars are mostly converted. The addition of fruit increases the ABV while keeping the weight of beverage low. It's too sweet for frat party chugging, but luckily it is also tart enough to be a sophisticated beverage that one can nurse and acquire a taste for.
O: It's okay, acceptable, perhaps even good, to the niche audience it caters to. Hard to sell at my shop though.

Testing the idea that light can never be light enough, Rhinegeist brewers roll out an even lighter, little brother to their popular but achingly mainstream Bubbles Rose Ale.
Pale pink and with a shy peach hue, the racy ale carries a champagne zest fighting through a creamy viscosity and building a broken froth. Apple and zinfindale carry the scent along with a slight earth of cider. Its taste starts malty with light wafer and simple syrups in a very short introduction of sweetness.
Very little changes across the middle palate as the sweetness breaks apart and the ale pops on the tastebuds with apple, lime, grape and gooseberry with the zeal of pop rocks candy. The late palate comes quickly with as much of a winey, cidery tanginess as its does anything that resembles beer.
Very light in body, a tacky sweetness persists on the finish having the ale seeming much more like a wine spritzer than beer. Slim bitterness, slight orchard earth and a tepid salinity tries to offer balance and intrigue, but in the end it's not enough to save the beer. There's always that one person who's dragged into a craft beer bar kicking and screaming; they could probably choke these down without giving a face like they just swallowed a bug.
