Tasting like a spritzer, build like a beer, the brewers at Rhinegeist give their "Dodo" Gose some company. Crisp, clean and refreshing, a low calorie, low alcohol, peach driven taste gives the warmer weather the quencher that it needs.
Pale and on the chrome side of straw, the slightly hazy Lodo races to the top with steady streams of champagne-like bubbles. As its fizzy froth collapses quickly, a tantalizing scent of light fruit, white wine, cider and acidity tingle the nose. A scant sweetness introduces the taste with the lightness of sourdough wafer, light agave and a very mild taffy.
Very little changes as the ale splashes against the middle palate. A light citrus tone of under ripened orange and pink grapefruit complement the pear additions for a low level sense of complexity. Trailing into a late palate of a taste that hinges on sourness versus tartness, the clean and brisk ale carries only a hint of sprucy bitterness.
Very light, airy and fairly expressive in its carbonated value, Lodo bounces off of the palate swiftly for a quick finish and a fast fleeting aftertaste as an essence of pear echoes softly behind.
