Type: Draft
Glass: Pint glass
From: The Hills Local Pub in La Mesa (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $4.00 (Happy Hour price)
Purchased: July 10, 2014
Consumed: July 10, 2014
Misc.: N/A
Poured a brownish, red color with one finger of gray head when I got it, which thinned quickly. Very little spots of lacing on the sides of the glass. No retention.
Smelled floral hops, chocolate, roasty nuts, cocoa spice and light citrus hops.
Initial taste reminded me of a Fat Tire. Roasty notes, surprisingly bitter, chocolate, cocoa nib spices, faint floral hops and soapy notes on the tongue late.
Medium body. Oily texture. Average-to-soft carbonation. Long, astringent finish.
This was just an average beer. Will not have it again.
