The one we go to time and time again. Rich with our favourite hops in unusual combinations, this beer is unique and stands out from others in the category with a slight bitterness. The resiny pithiness from judicious amounts of Citra and El Dorado carries through the mid palate and raises notes of minty tangerine and clear gummy bear. Soft and cloudy, fluffy and light, this is our favourite IPA

Serving: On tap at Central (Vancouver Bentall), poured in a shaker pint glass.

Appearance: Hazy pale yellow with a good froth of fine white foam.

Smell: Citrus rind, tropical fruit and dank hops.

Taste: Orange, grapefruit flesh and rind, with softer tropical notes and gentle bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Soft, medium body and moderate carbonation.

Overall: Easy drinking hazy IPA.

From a can at Riverside Base near Mizonokuchi station. Not sure how fresh it was. It was fine.

Cloudy yellow-grey color. Looks a bit like those cup of soup instant noodles without the noodles. Poured a tall head that dropped down to a thick skiff after 3 minutes. Too cloudy to see the carbonation level. Left large patches of lace.

Blend of floral and vegetal hop smell. A hint of fresh mint that would come and go. Light malt with a very faint barnyard. Swirling the glass kicked up a stronger barnyard for a few seconds before it dropped back to the original scents.

Very mild bitters for an IPA. Strong citrus that resolves to ripe tangerine as it warms up. Light malt that tastes a bit like baking powder biscuits fresh from the oven. The aftertaste is a strong surge of hop flavor but only a touch of bitters. The tangerine comes back with a resin flavor like the peel. This all slowly fades away.

Foams up to something that is close to creamy even as the bubbles grow larger. Slightly gummy. Mildly astringent.

This has all the flavor of an IPA without the bitters. The tangerine is so strong I could be convinced that this rested on a barrel of fruit for a while. However the resin flavor builds over time and starts to overpower everything else. I don't think I could drink more than one of these in a session.
