From a can. No freshness date. Poured into a goblet.
Appearance is darker than a traditional Czech Pils, with very little head formation.
Sweet corn and yeast on the nose.
Far sweeter and softer in the initial flavor than a Czech Pils: Lacking a snap of noble hops. Not nearly as dry as expected. Initial flavors of sweet canned corn, buttered white bread, light toast and a tiny twang of sweet grass. A nice crackery malt shows up in the aftertaste.
Conclusion: If this was meant to be a traditional Pils, it is way off the mark. Not nearly dry and crisp enough, with a serious lack of hop flavor. However, the label states "American Pilsner". This is a fine beer, with nice flavor, but it reminds me much more of a Kolsch or Blonde Ale than any type of lager.

Ordered this beer in a Colorado Springs restaurant, came in a can, poured into glass.
Look: light yellow straw, white head that dissipates quick.
Smell: Hoppy
Taste: Hops over power the pilsner, the high alcohol detract from any hint of complex flavor.
Feel: Over hopped and high alcohol flavor remains after the glass is empty.
Reminded me of a Keystone Ice, black can.

The board puts the IBUs at 32 for this beer. Their website claims this is a pre-Prohibition style pilsner.
Deep, dark golden body with thin, white head. Mild malt nose; sweet grass. Light malt flavor with a bold hop bitterness throughout. Medium body; clean.
Good pilsner overall. It has a funky bitterness and dryness yet it's tasty enough. There is a smooth maltiness to things with a very prominent hop bitterness. Maybe a little overdone on the hop bitterness, but otherwise a very drinkable lager.
