Dark, amber-brown body; less than one-finger thick head although it has a creamy density. A robust, roasted grain aroma; nutty; charred sugars; caramel. The taste follows along with the aroma; brown sugar; mild hop bitterness appearing long into the finish. Heavy body; dense, warm and sweet; semi-sweet finish.
A true-to-style beer that packs a lot of warm, chewy, dark infused flavor and mouthfeel into each sip. The initial appearance is okay and layers of rings mark the end of each sip of the glass. The real pleasure is the aroma and flavor. Both exude and deliver a warm and inviting Scottish ale experience. I don't know if this will be part of Red Leg's regular rotation, but I certainly hope it will.
