Beer in Belgium dates back to the first crusades when local abbeys brewed beer as a fund raising method. The artisanal brewing methods evolved over centuries and became popular with Master Brewers and beer drinkers around the world. Our premium ingredients and brewing methods are sure to impress the monks. Golden in colour, Lenoir has classic Belgian fruity aroma with a slight sweetness and very little bitterness. Lenoir is a smooth and sessionable Belgian style beer. Enjoy!

Pours a rather misty brick read with a soapy frothy head that disappears quickly to leave the beer completely flat. The beer is way to sweet, the typical belgian banana and clove is cloying.

Pours amber and slight carbonation - I feel like it needs more to balance some of the cloying sweetness.
Smell is caramel for sure and some yeasty notes but not getting much complexity either.
Kind of a belgian-lite. It's tasty for sure but I'm sitting here wishing for more in the way of bread/banana/yeast notes and some effervescence that I'd expect from a Belgian.

This is my favourite beer from Bell City. Pours caramel colour with a short frothless head. The smell is sweet and slightly funky. The taste is classic Belgian, sweet and fruity and a bit tart. This is a fantastic introductory example to the Belgian beer style

Can: Poured a hazy amber color ale with a large foamy head with god retention and some lacing. Aroma of lightly sweet Belgian style malt is OK. Taste is a mix of Belgian style malt with some cereal notes and some light caramel with hints of fruity ester and a touch of residual sugar notes. Body is full with good carbonation. Not bad but missing some attenuation.

473ml can. It may be I'm a snob, but part of me just can't abide a Belgian-style ale in a can.
This doesn't really look Belgian. Slightly amber pale ale colour. Not a whole lot of visible carbonation. Half inch of short-lived head. No lacing.
Sweet. Interesting green apple aroma.
This is way too sweet. Candi sugar is the dominant flavour here, by a mile. As it warms I also get some sticky-sweet caramel malt and a range of yeast esters -- green apple, peach, clove.
Not nearly enough carbonation. Too much cloying sweetness on the finish.
I'm not gonna lie: this isn't a good beer. Even moreso than with their cream ale, I get a sense that the brewers are over-reaching a bit, trying to brew hard-to-execute styles and badly missing the mark.

Crystal clear dark golden colour, almost a light amber. Thing film of off white head and lots of visible carbonation. Head disappears without any lacing.
Smells a touch sour, like unripe green apple and peach, a bit yeasty at the back with some banana.
Taste threw me for a loop at first. Very sugar sweet and fruity at the front, think sugary apple juice or canned pie filling. Bananas and spice come through the middle and dominate. Finishes sweet and sticky with the clove spice lingering and a bit of warming.
A bit fizzy but not crisp or bright. Very sappy and sticky, sweetness stays on the tongue long after the sip.
Overall the aromas are inviting but things get a bit mixed up in the flavours. It winds up being too sugary sweet for my liking and lacks a balance that makes it hard to feel refreshed. I think this one needs more tinkering in the brewery though nice to see more Belgian varieties in Ontario breweries.

Poured from a 473 ml can.
L - clear, golden orange. Not much carbonation. One inch head, off-white, that drops to 1/8 inch after 6 minutes. Lots of lacing.
S - faint, malt, caramel, orange.
T - butterscotch, caramel, malt, orange. Not much hop presence. Balanced - neither sweet or bitter. Some candi-sugar. Some banana.
F - low carbonation, needs more body, slightly bitter after-taste. Could use more candi-sugar for style.
O - could use more malt body, not too much complexity, candi-sugar does not come through much. Not sure why it's described as 'sessionable" especially when it is rated at 6.4% alcohol. Not a great example of this stye.

Very nice Belgian style pale.
If you're looking for good maltiness along the lines of a Chimay White Cap, this is it.
Almost sessionable for this kind of beer too.
Thanks!

Purchased at the LCBO for around that $3.00 mark for a 473ml can. Served at 4deg C in a draught glass.
A- Opens well and pours a 1/2" high white head that films out within a minute or two. Very dark gold colour and filtered clear.
S- Lots of Belgium yeast here. Sweet smelling
T- Sweet and yeasty. Very nice overall brew with great balance and flavor. The sugar does come through with little heat. Very similar to some Unibroue products as they must be using the same yeast. Very enjoyable.
M- Creamy at the beginning then drying out a touch at the end. No heat at all.
O- Very nice well rounded brew. Has the complexity you expect from a Belgium style brew and will buy again for sure. Can't sit around too long though as it will degrade in the can sooner than a bottle but that is typical of cans versus bottles.
Food Pairing
This nice little brew went very well with...... Maple glazed ham with mustard rub and cloves. Served with sides you see fit however a butternut squash with maple syrup and brown sugar really does this one well too.
Enjoy
