473 ml can served cold into a beer mug. Canned February 18, 2022. This might be a touch stale. Listed as a Dry Hopped Hazy IPA.
Appearance - Amber and hazy brew with honey brown highlights. A huge plume of four fingers of white head are poured. Good staying power. Some spidery lacing left behind.
Smell - On the maltier side with some faded citrus hops, mango with some melon and a floral aspect. Pretty subdued.
Taste - Semi-bitter, almost a touch sour with some citrus elements - melon and mango again in play over a slightly piney backbone. Some grainy malt in there too.
Mouthfeel - Medium-full bodied and carbonation seems light, there may have been a slight pressure buildup that released when opened.
Overall - Ok enough IPA, but this seems more West coast style or hybrid than purely a juicy NEIPA. Would love to get my hands on a fresher sample, if I do the ratings here may change significantly.

Billed as a Dry Hopped Hazy IPA. The appearance of this beer is not as hazy as one might expect, gold in colour with a midsized head. The nose and taste are both hoppy and bitter, with the taste adding some light citrus notes. A little bit of tangerine on the aftertaste.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Sep 29 2021 and served slightly chilled. The hops are listed in the ingredients (Citra, Mosaic); I'm mostly mentioning this because it's a good idea that I hope catches on.
Pours a lightly fogged golden-blonde colour, producing one finger of bubbly, foamy white head that lasts for the better part of five minutes. It cakes the glass with plenty of lovely lace as it recedes down to a creamy-looking collar and sudsy cap - looks quite attractive. Lots of cantaloupe and mango on the nose, with hints of mandarin orange, passion fruit and bubble gum. A little sweet, too - grainy bread, with a touch of butterscotch.
The flavour profile isn't far off from the aroma - still pretty heavy on the cantaloupe/melon, with grapefruit joining the fray early on, as well. Notes of orange, passion fruit and grassy, floral hops wrap things up, blending with a relatively robust malt bill that tastes of grainy, doughy bread and honey sweetness; I'm left with a fruity, malty aftertaste with suggestions of mango and minimal bitterness. Medium in body, with underwhelming carbonation levels that weakly nudge the surface of the palate; feels slick, smooth, and a little lifeless. Easy enough to drink - I could drink another, but I'm on the fence as to whether or not I'd actually want to.
Final Grade: 3.56, a B grade. Bell City's Fresh Ideas isn't bad, but I'm not so sure it lives up to its name - that is to say, it doesn't exactly stand out from the crowd, at least not in any good ways. The flavours are nice enough, albeit not entirely up my alley - it leans on tropical fruit-y hops, giving it a 'Dole fruit cup' feel that I am not real big on. A serviceable beer that I wouldn't turn down or discourage others from trying; I'll be picking this up a few more times, because any decent beer deserves a couple of chances.
