Went over to Coin Haus after meeting someone for lunch. The beer I wanted to try was apparently gone, so I planned on having four or five 5-to-6-oz. pours of some beer to review. Started with this, which on Untappd called it, “Barrel Aged sour blonde aged for 11 months adding Passion Fruit and Apricot puree fourth anniversary beer.” With a 3.90 rating as well, I wanted to try it. Would also be my first Barrel Harbor beer.
Poured a light amber semi-hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy-to-rocky off-white head. Light bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Average watery lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled passion fruit, apricot, sour notes, white wine barrel, oak, peach, stone fruit and nectarine. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted oak, white wine barrel, passion fruit, apricot, peach, stone fruit, nectarine, guava and sour citrus notes. (Taste - 4.00)
Light body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Really good overall. Was pleasantly surprised. (Overall - 4.00)
