Black body, with small head. Deep singed roast nose, with some off-putting diacetyl swirling amidst the burnt embers. A black-patent forward body that is on the thin side, especially for a beer touted as an oatmeal stout. A touch of oatmeal character throughout. While named an Oatmeal Stout, ingredient and characteristic-wise, this seems to be more of an old-style English/Brown Porter.

Draft offering at Zucks. The brew appears a dark brown color with a tan cap about a finger strong. A full wall lace sticks to the glass and the brew shows impressive cap retention.
The aroma is fresh and grainy with a slight oak-like sweet scent. Some noted of chocolate and roast but quite mild. The overall feel of this brew's nose is quite clean.
The flavor includes a bit of dark fruity alcohol mixed with malt imparting a flavor like raisins and molasses. Some earth and roast into the finish with more fresh grain quality.
This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. As far as oatmeal stouts go, this was par for the course. Nothing exceptional or off about it just right down the middle of the road, decent.
