Draft offering at Zucks served in a can shaped glass. The brew appears dark brown in color with a tan cap that fades back with a webbing of lace sticking to the walls of the glass.
The aroma includes roasted chocolate and a bit of creme brulee caramelized sugar aspect. More earthen roasty with chocolate coming out more as it warms. There is a slight nuttiness also thrown into the roast elements of this brew's nose.
The flavor is bitter and roasty. A bit of dark nutty grain taste mixes into the aftertaste like creme brulee and butterscotch. A bit of green yeastiness is also present with some herbal hops. Lots of chocolate comes out as it warms up.
This is a medium bodied brew with a modest level of carbonation. It is very easy drinking with a subtle butterscotch aftertaste that is enjoyable. The hint of young, green yeastiness I could do without but it seems like it is a famikiar occurence in almost all of Zuck's offerings. The nuance of the butterscotch and how subtle it is, is well done. Any more and it might be distracting or over-powering, any less and it wouldnt be noticed. I would drink this again.
