i was impressed with a couple of recent hoppy beers from these guys, this one included, one of their more popular, but this is my first time with it. really fresh, heavy handed hopping here, and yet still excellent balance which lends to drinkability, its obvious these guys have some real chops on the production side of things. unfiltered but not a hazy, pale yellowish in the glass, straw colored maybe, with an average white head on it and very active carbonation fizzing and popping. the nose on this is nice, punchy and piney up front, woodsy but bright still, bitter citrus and its pith, definite west coast dankness and oils, supreme freshness, up front intensity, could be some cryo hops or something in here, because it isnt green but its very saturated and bold. nice hop profile in the flavor too, gin type botanical character and the juniper for sure, resinous weed character, orange and fruit punch, tropical but also wintery at the same time, and there is some light nuttiness to the malt that keeps this balanced even though its also quite bitter. a little fuller feeling but on the dry side, almost creamy textured and lively too. delicious ipa overall, dank and sturdy, with a lot of personality. new glory is dong some great stuff, it was awesome to be able to rip a bunch of them in the same session recently!

One of my favorite current brews. Hoppy, sticky, fragrant - crack one of these in your backyard on a warm summer day and you're ballin'. I love seeing newbies take a hit of this, smack their lips a couple times and say "wow". Dank is right - a really flavorful hop bomb, but not at all excessive. Roll into your neighborhood poker night with a six-pack of these and you'll be the talk of the table.

 

19.2 oz can (“Ubah 4 prez, 08/25/23”) poured into a 14 oz Rastal Teku glass. Bright, pale and clear gold with a frothy cap of white foam and decent lace. Aromas of pine, grapefruit, and dank, ripe tropical fruit. Flavor follows with a crisp bitterness and rounded citrus and tropical fruit body. Medium body and carbonation. A nice West Coast IPA that strikes a balance between crisp and dank.

 

I think the sum is greater than the parts. Should rate in the 90s on this site. Excellent beer. Could use more mouthfeel start to finish. But the taste is excellent. Pine predominately. Good look. Haze is nice. No lacing per se but it’s a good beer with a lot of potential. On tap at yard house Sacramento.

Pours a nice golden color with a one finger foam head.

Piney smell. Taste is a mix of breadiness and malts, fades Into a hoppy finish.

Overall decent beer, would buy again.

19.2oz can, Duvel tulip, canned 6/16/22.

Liquid and crystal clear gold. The head is fueled by big crackling bubbles and is a clean, sticky white. It looks the part for a West Coast IPA.

The strength of the aroma is exciting and inviting. Mandarin, Meyer lemon zest, dank buds.

It’s tasty, with more yellow grapefruit and lemon zest citrus and a mellow bitterness, making it not classic, but part of the new wave of softer West Coast IPAs. There’s also a residual greenness, like fresh green bell pepper. The malt is in the background, though it’s not “ubah” dry.

Definitely a fuller body than the style calls for. Carbonation is active and the aftertaste Carrie’s some bitterness, but isn’t dry, grating, or scrubbing on the tongue.

Very nice IPA in a new sub-style.

 

16 oz can, canned 3/2/22. Pours hazy dark orange yellow with a big white meringue head that retains well and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is subdued, sweet malt with fruity spicy hops.

The flavor is sweet creamy biscuit malt with some fruit and resiny piney hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, just OK.

Appearance: Pours a clear golden with a two finger head; strong retention leaving shards and spots

Smell: Dank and herbal with pine and hints of caramel, tropical fruit and onion

Taste: Hints of caramel malt strike the tip of the tongue before the dank, piney flavors emerge; touches of papaya and onion underneath, with a piney, herbal finish

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

Overall: The sweetness is unusual for a West Coast IPA but there is certainly some dankness to this one

 

 

 

It smells really herbal and a little sweet with malts.

It tastes herby and sweet. It's also extremely refreshing.

It's thin with a lot of carbonation. It has a dank and bitter finish that doesn't last for long.

Overall it's an extremely refreshing IPA. I give it a 4.9 out of 6.

This beer is decent. It's your standard modern WC IPA. They claim it's the dankest; LIES! It could be waaaay danker. Still good though.

19.2oz can served in a nonic imperial pint. Dated 2021-04-23. Gift from my brother.

Pours a slightly hazy, light yellow, with a big, persistent, rocky head and medium to high carbonation. Smell is herbal, almost minty, cut grass, lemons.

Taste is similar -- lemon, herbal, cut grass, maybe some hay and a bit of grain husk.

Mouthfeel is light, dry, slightly resinous. Overall, it's not bad.
