No canned on date on this 16 ouncer. Maybe it's under the label on the can somewhere? Consumed on 07/30/17 in wine glass.
Amber red body with a finger of clearish white head, quickly dissipated into nothing and barely comes back with aggressive swirling. Heavily floral and belgian yeasty scent, a bit of orange zest. I really didn't enjoy the taste on this one.. it seems very muddled and none of the flavors seem to complement eachother or bring out a solid coherent finish. The hibiscus is almost overpowering in this sense. The scent is certainly more impressive than the flavor profile. However, despite the lack of visible carbonation or head retention, there was still a decent carbonation feel on the tongue. I am curious to know when this beer was packaged, it's clearly not the same experience others have had.

new beers from random breweries, nothing better for a beer nerd like myself. never heard of new glory before, didnt know what i was getting into this one, but its an excellent brew. there is a nice pink color, some haze, and a lively head at first that fades after a few minutes, but i am drinking outside, and its hot, so the conditions for this one to hold up are less than fully favorable. the nose is striking to me, almost fruity its so floral, the hibiscus here more natural than others, not so much perfume but with notes of lime, some bitterness, even a flash of watermelon, but the color could be tricking me, as it looks like watermelon juice. grains of paradise too, citrusy and tea-like. the yeast is neat, sort of french saison-esque, more robust in the flavor than the nose, with white wine qualities, grape too, slight herbs, and even a little citric tartness, although this beer is far from sour. clean, not as funky as some, but with an appreciable body and wheaty grain base, its more substantial than so many of these. i think as robust as the hibiscus is, its just right for the beer, balanced nicely and even accentuated by the malt. it could use more carbonation for sure, it felt still after a little while, but its a nice beer and it went down easy enough. fun new one to try!

Appearance - Pours slightly hazy and salmon in color with an orange tint. Off-white head that peaks at a finger's width before quickly peeling back to a mostly barren surface with a thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. No lacing.
Smell - Citrus and berry with lesser floral character. Mild funky undertone.
Flavor - Hits with notes of orange and lemon citrus, berry, floral character and a splash of honey. Slight funk comes in mid-taste in the form of green banana. Mild spice develops in the finish before the aftertaste lingers with berry sweetness.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation; lightly spritzy with a slick texture. Goes down easy with a smooth finish.
Overall - Interesting saison, but despite the mild approach it tends to get a bit too sweet due to lack of bittering balance. It's tasty for a sip or two, but overall I think their Farmopolis is the better saison.
