This was poured with a very thin head built by layers of small bubbles. The color was light and clear but was a touch closer to an orange than the expected grainy yellow.
The aromas were a touch grainy with a cereal maltiness but it was not overly pronounced.
The flavors followed suit with a cereal malt and grain but again it does not establish itself with any real assertiveness.
The feel is carbonated and sour but not offensive.
The problem with a Kolsch is that it starts off handicapped due to its lack of complexity. Couple that with the lack of real strong malt and the score will not be more than average.
