Despite barrel aging this had a very light crisp hue of bronze and orange coloring. The head was a film of tight knit bubbles that coalesced it a thin film.
The nose is very light but one gets obvious tones of coconut, oak, bourbon and a barley malt.
The flavor came across very strong on coconut, light bourbon cream and very light else. The coconut was so strong that I would have believed it was actually brewed with coconut.
The feel was quite thin and didn't have the heft or fullness I would have expected.
The base beer in the Maibock was, in my opinion, very weak so my expectations were never all that high.
