After being beaten up pretty good by the incredible alcohol content of "Resting Bitter Face", the tastebuds now relax with her little sister, Lil' RBF- a session IPA that celebrates all the fruity and herbal glory of big sister but with more somber alcohol and intensity in taste.
Lil RBF pours a bright amber with golden strand tethering though. Its short froth delivers waves of juicy, succulent and tantalizing hop aromatics with citrus, spruce and orchard fruit. Initial taste is ripe with fructose, honey and light caramel.
Once the ale seeps into the tastebuds, its full fruity taste is realized- red grapefruit, tangerine and lemon stream into pineapple and cantaloup with hints of mango and apricot. Smooth bitterness of citrus peels also carry the sappy resinous character of pine needles along with herbal cannabis, chive and fresh-cut grass.
Medium-light on the palate, the clean and bitter ale finishes mostly dry with hints of buttery caramel and chive lingering behind. It's medium-length aftertaste remains bitter and herbal.
