I recently had this on a flight at the local Craft House. It's a good example of the style (with adequate refreshing crispness) and I probably rated it a little higher than other pilseners because it was local and on tap. My local stores do not seem to sell Blue Stallion in bottles or cans and I'm not sure if it is available in a package. The Blue Stallion Dunkel is a fall favorite, for what that's worth, which is why I know about the unavailability of their beers in Louisville.

And let the "Blue Stallion" era in Lexington begin! Preferring the time honored traditions of European brews over that of the chic hop-dominant varieties- there's something to be respected about finesse, refinement and grace. Its those philosophies that the brewers have in mind heading into their German Pilsner.
Bright straw in color, the beer's hues highlight its brilliant gold highlights, its bubbly nature and its overall sense of lightness. Capped with a cottony-white froth the beer's carbonation keeps its head strong and persistent through the majority of the session. Broken lace adorns the glass to denote each sip taken from the glass.
The raw nature of the pilsner barley malt manifests in the lager's aroma. Fresh baking bread, slight husk and a soft apple-like sulfur note keeps the scent rounded. A slight nod to butterscotch sweetness gives the nose full aromatics that balance with floral-herbal hops to provide impressions of lemongrass and honeysuckle.
Not your dad's lager, this beer provides a richer taste of starch, moderate grain sweetness and hearty fresh-baking bread. Its counterpart of botanicals vary from a flowery taste early, through herbal grasses and into a spicy bitterness to finish. All the while, light apple and match-stick sulfurs provide a crisp "snappiness" to ensure a high level of drinkability.
Being a bit fuller in taste, its only expected to feel an emboldened weight as well. A creamy upstart turns racy and zesty as the bubble spring from the tongue. Mild oil texture weaves into the sweetness and is sliced into by minty alcohol warmth and hop dryness.
Straddling a few lager styles, the ale has the carbonation and crispness of traditional Northern German Lagers, yet its fuller body, and protruding sweetness suggests Bohemian Czech Lagers. Even the complexities of yeast sulfur and light vegetation suggests something more rustic.

Yellow but exceptionally light the head built a foamy thickness and laced pretty well.
Some cereal malt on the nose there was light bread and cracker.
The taste was much like the the nose with cereal grains predominantly placed but not particularly strong. Light bread and some cracker flavor near mid palate it ends with a soapy hop finish.
Very light refreshing feel, it's incredibly easy to drink but dry near the end.
