Reddish brown in color, nutty smell, nutty taste, creamy on the tongue, and dry on the finish. I really enjoyed this one!

A: Pours a clear deep reddish copper in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and faint burnt orange + garnet red + golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall pillowy foamy beige head that slowly reduces to a medium to large sized two finger tall cap surrounded by a large patch of very thick film and a very thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of bready + caramel + toasted + toffee + chocolate malts with a light amount of sweetness and light aromas of earthy + slightly spicy hops. Hints of light fruit (apple + pear) yeast.
T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of bready + caramel + toasted + toffee + chocolate malts with a light amount of toffee sweetness. Light flavors of light fruit (apple + pear) yeast and light flavors of earthy + slightly spicy hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which lingers slightly.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp with a slightly chewy mid-body.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a style that I do not run across all the frequently. Enjoyable with a nice amount of complexity to the malt flavors and just enough balance from the hops so that it is not sweet.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Light crispness all around.
Overall: not a bad red ale. Hits the spot.

On tap in Greenville SC.
Slightly hazy medium brown body with a weak, bubbly white head that leaves little lacing on the glass.
Toffee, biscuits and faint hops in the nose. The flavor follows. Typical strength for style. Lightly bitter flavor despite ample malts.
Overall: a solid Irish red.
