Very special . This one cannot be compared to any other 'kriek'beers. Very strong, impressive and unique beer. This is a flavor bomb, and people who prefer the 'lemonade' krieks, realy won't like this one. It's comparing lama urine to a good millesimé champagne. I know the brewer ( his micro brewery is a small 2 kilometers from where I live). He's known as a stubborn genious, who makes very good and extraordinary beers. Last year he brew 'Flor' beer which is one of the best beers I ever drunk... Sadly he tends to make some beers only for one season in small quantities.

Limited edition, strong ale lagered 1 year with Belgian cherries ("noordkrieken").
Really dark ruby, can't see through, small pinkish creamy head.
Smell of cherries, really fresh, a bit tart,a bit jammy too. Nothing else.
Sherry taste, boozy from the start, moderately sweet. Nice clear taste, with seed and peel and all, strongly hinting some amaretto. Hints of red berry, faint red apple even. Dry and way more than warm alcoholic finish.
Light to medium body, pretty fizzy. Still, it's a slow sipper, a fact that's reminded with every new brandy-like glug. Aftertaste, accordingly.
I'm not sure i'd guess this one as a fruit beer during a sherry blind tasting, if that's a thing. Really interesting.
