After tasting it I probably would have guessed that it was a bock or even a dunkel. My admittedly weak understanding of Kentucky common is that they had a sour element to them which this lacked. That said, it was a beautiful copper-brown malty, toasty ale with adequate bitterness and a sustained head. I liked it enough to have three, foregoing the desire to try a few different beers despite not matching my expectation based on the style.
