Hazy peach, very little head, no retention.

Nice earthy funk in the aroma, comes through it the flavour as well. There's a little sour cherry, but it's quite light. Good flavour, but a kriek really needs more cherry.

Light to moderate body has a pleasant and crisp acidity.

Appearance: Sparkling semi-clear peach-rosée colour, head is thin and quickly dissipating leaving nothing but clean edges and just the occasional surface disturbance from the active carbonation.

Aromatics: If I had a container of apple juice in the fridge for a week or two past its expiry - the sour cherry is ample but refreshing not off-putting. With a lactic acidity mixing with light florals. Overall light and fresh smelling, I wish they made this scent for laundry detergent.

Taste: Actually quite earthy in the cherry - the sour bite is a lot like almost ripe Rainier cherries.

Mouth: Carbonation is very active at the beginning, and subsides as it sits. But it stays crisp and clean. A fairly elegant light to medium body. A little bit of lemon-like cause some pucker and you can feel the acidity as it really straggles behind the flavor to play as an afterthought-tingle on the lips and edges of the tongue.

Overall: As it is still an ale but in a kriek style, not a "true" lambic I absolutely love it. It's crisp and super refreshing. I have had other Kriek-style ales in the past and even some true lambic krieks that don't come close to the overall package as this one.

Pairing: I like its light wistful and airy character, so I'd like to keep it light, and a dessert for sure. Maybe a nice fluffy and slightly sticky angel food cake topped with fresh strawberries and freshly whipped vanilla cream. Or even some fresh baked puff pastries with a fruit infused cream centre.
