Poured from a 16 oz can bought in North Carolina.
L - Color is on the border between deep gold and light copper. Extremely clear, with some crisp, tiny bubbles that continuously rise from the bottom. Bone-colored head faded away quickly.
S - Aromas are a whiff of sweet, bready malt, and low spicy/herbal noble hops. Very good balance of smells for the style.
T - Crisp cracked grain and light sweetness from the malts. Herbal and black pepper background seem to be from the hops, rather than yeast character. Like the aromas, the flavors have perfect balance for the style.
F - Light to moderate body with low, but crisp carbonation. Medium hops bitterness gives a bracing counterpoint to the light malt sweetness, but does not dominate the mouthfeel. Light alcohol presence.
O - This was a great, true-to-style version of a classic German beer. I was not expecting much from this beer when I bought it on a whim, but I was very pleasantly surprised with this offering from a brewery I had not heard of previously. I rarely find US versions of German styles that reproduce the originals faithfully, but this is one great US example.

Pours a very nice light copper color with a nice head and lacing
Aroma has malty hints
The taste follows the nose with a nice malty and bready with a peppery ending flavor
A light bodied well carbonated beer
A very nice easy drinking beer
