unique brew here and really well done, a top pickle beer for my money, a clean and basic kettle sour base is a key to this, not too acidic, fairly clean, and not thing feeling, dry but still with some grain body, i think this sets up the other ingredients really well, and the low alcohol is just a bonus. pale straw colored, a little cloudy, and fizzy but not holding really any head after a minute. the nose on this is awesome, i can smell the lemony acid right away and it makes my mouth water, but it does have a light white vinegar resonance to it that plays like pickle brine. i can appreciate fresh cucumber, even the green waxy peel, very authentic to me, dill for sure too, and things like green olive, black pepper, even mustard seed, this seems on point, do i even get some light onion or garlic? this is hitting like crafty pickle juice, really cool. the flavor is fun, and i like it staying beery enough underneath all the pickle elements, some light wheat and maybe pils malt coming through, which keep it out of the gimmick realm. i also think the dosing is right, this isnt subtle but its not forced either, and i think it ends up being rather drinkable, not too sour either which is smart. the cucumber flavor gives wonderful verdant freshness to this, nice with the citrusy pucker. the dill is vibrant too, and i like the spice profile, almost an allspice thing, light peppery spice too, really comes together well and hits like a proper pickle. cant say i usually seek this kind of thing out, but its hard not to be impressed with the effort here, this is about as well done as any i have encountered, and all it was missing for me was a partner bloody mary. they should be proud of this one!
