Served on tap in a shaker pint. Cola colored liquid with thin streams of carbonation rising to the surface. No head, no lacing to speak of. Aromas of bread, roast, banana, spice, caramel, and pear. Taste follows, with bubblegum, spice, pear, apple, and some fig, plum notes peeking through.

22 ounce bottle into weizen glass, bottled on 7/9/2015. Pours hazy dark reddish brown color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, banana, pear, apple, clove, light bubblegum, toast, dark bread, slight smoke, herbal, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, dark/roast/bready malt, and light earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big chocolate, cocoa, coffee, banana, pear, apple, clove, light bubblegum, toast, dark bread, slight smoke, herbal, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Light herbal bitterness, yeast spiciness, and wheat tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, banana, pear, apple, clove, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, dark/roast/bready malt ,and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome dunkelweizen. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, dark/roast/bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

A cloudy brown..smells of lightly toasted grain, caramel and nut. Taste of caramelized grain, banana and nuts. The creaminess making it similar to the melted last bit of a banana split heavy on caramel. Would certainly drink again.
