This beer was the first of a flight during a recent trip to the brewery. This beer arrived with a thin white head that dissipated fairly quickly to a thin lacing. The beer itself is clear and a dark amber hue with a bit of dark copper visible around the edges. There is light visible carbonation in the form of small bubbles rising slowly toward the surface. 4.5/5 The aroma of this beer is very sweet with caramel and caramelized sugar really coming out strongly with an undertone of wheat and dark roasted grains. There is a light herbal hop presence that acts as an undertone to the sweetness of the malt. 4/5 A deep caramel flavor comes out when it first hits the tongue along with a bit of whole grain wheat bread. Dark roasted grains come out after the breadiness before transitioning into a bit of tobacco and then herbal hops. There is a light lingering bitterness. 3.5/5 Light bodied beer with some drying and lingering dryness which is quite unexpected with the amount of sweetness. There is a light carbonation tickle up front that disappears rather quickly. 3.75/5 Well flavored beer that leans heavily toward the sweet side of things. The hops are present but act more as an undertone than anything. Light abv and body make this an easily sessionable beer. 3.75/5
