22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 2/10/17, had 10/28/17.

Pours an amber color, mostly opaque, with a one inch quickly dissipating foamy head and some soapy lacing. Aromas of malt, strawberries, plums, dates, oak, raisins, toffee, bourbon- more as it warms. The taste also starts with the malt, then dates, raisins, light caramel, some oak, light bourbon- again, more as it warms. Smooth, well carbonated, a lighter body for the style.

Have had stronger efforts from Tapistry. Has a good aroma, but needs more intensity in the flavor. Kind of lacking a bit overall, for a bourbon barrel aged.

Had a ten ounce pour at Coaches in Stevensville Michigan on January 2, 2018. Bottom line is that this ale seemed very weak with very little flavor. I'm not going to request this beer again.

Great looking beer, the head dissipated fairly quickly. Nice bourbon aroma with dark sugared fruits. Mild taste for a bourbon aged beer. Good taste profile but lacks body. Overall a good beer but falls behind similar beers from other breweries.

The final of my flight of 5 at a recent trip to Tapistry. This beer features a dark amber hue that has a bit of mahogany as well. A thin white head graces the top of the beer which dissipates at a moderate pace to a thin lacing. The beer itself is clear with light carbonation visible in the form of small bubbles rising slowly toward the surface. 4/5 The aroma is an interesting mix of sweet, earthy, and bitter. There is a bit of sorghum and caramel sweetness but these notes are somewhat subdued in order to make room for the earthy/peat mossy yeast note. A bit of earthy, grassy hops round of the aroma. 3.75/5 The flavor profile is very similar to the aroma, which is always nice. Carmel and sorghum come out strongly right away but are quickly cut into by the earthy/peat mossy yeast. This brings a bit of a Belgian feel to this beer. A nutty (hazelnuts?) note comes out right after the peat moss, providing yet another earthy note before the earthy and grassy hops take over and lighten up the flavor a bit at the end. There is light bitterness and no lingering bitterness, although the peat moss does linger for a while. 3.75/5 Medium bodied and slightly viscous, providing a feeling of full-tongue coating that really allows the flavors to mingle. Light carbonation tickle up front dissipates very quickly and leaves the beer somewhat dry but with very little lingering dryness. 4.25/5 Very interesting beer in terms of flavor and aroma combinations. Well balanced between sweet, earthy, and bitter. Higher abv does not really show itself in the flavor. 4/5
