This American style Porter was brewed with flaked rye giving it a spicy edge to balance the sweetness imparted by the coconut, with notes of chocolate to back it all up.

Pours a dark brown color. 1/4 inch head of a tan color. Slight retention and poor lacing. Smells of strong chocolate, hint of roasted malt, hint of coconut, and a hint of vanilla. Fits the style of an American Porter. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, roasted malt, hint of coconut, hint of vanilla, slight chocolate, hint of wood, and a hint of hops. Overall, weak appearance, average aroma, body, and blend.

Pours very dark with a small head. Smells of coconut, chocolate and to me smells like alcohol. Tastes of chocolate, and slight coconut. Don't get much of the rye but think it balances the sweetness well. Overall a really solid Porter.
