A: Pours a clear dark almost opaque deep mahogany in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate dark amber + dark chestnut brown + dark garnet red colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense foamy dark beige head that reduces to a medium sized patch of thin film covering a little more than 20% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of roasted sweet potatoes along with moderate aromas of bready + toasted + caramel malts with moderate amounts of sweetness. Light to moderate aromas of vanilla + cinnamon + nutmeg. Very light aromas of earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of bready + toasted + caramel malts with moderate amounts of sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of roasted sweet potatoes and light to moderate flavors of vanilla + cinnamon + nutmeg. Finally there is a very light flavor of earthy which imparts a light amount of bitterness which fades away fairly quickly leaving moderate lingering sweet potato + cinnamon flavors.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly smooth, though slightly light mouthfeel. Enjoyable with great flavors + aromas from the roasted sweet potatoes and spices (vanilla + cinnamon + nutmeg). Reminds me of sweet potato pie without being as sweet.
