12 ounce can - $2.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a moderately hazed, dimmed orange-gold body with a thinning, yet creamyish white head.
Smell: Tropical fruit pulp, tangy citruses with a shot of resins, of herb and a topnote of that rustic, creamy wheat/oat deal. A bit of alcohol lurking within the aroma.
Taste: Rustic, raw, grainy - a blend of coarse barley, wheat and/or oats. Minimal sweetness. Guava, pineapple and tangerine, also a bit of watmelon and coconut flake cut by ribbons of spicy resins, bitterness, acidity and alcohol. Has that creamy schtew of grains without getting too terribly chalky or tasting of uncooked roux. Stays fruity, schtewy and bitter, warming through the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Creamy cereal mouthfeel.
Overall: Not bad. In a world of low-ABV kettle sours, lagers and IPA's, this eight-percent offering has me feeling fine and looped.
