I bought a Howler at Liquor Shed. The first beer from this brewery in Casper, soon to be followed by an IPA.
A- it pours a clear red with a 2 finger head of foam with very impressive lacing. Looks marvelous.
S- the smell has a sweet/bitter thing going on. Caramel malt. slight earthiness, a touch of a nutty character, bit of a hop bitterness in there.
T- very much malt forward example of the style. Sweet notes tempered by some earthy malt and the nutty character I got in the smell, some nice bitterish hoppiness. This is a very balanced and flavourful Amber/Red Ale.
M- such a creamy texture with perfect carbonation, the mouthfeel is superb!
O- what a fine brew I am sipping on. I've always found the style to be a tough one for me to enjoy, with a few exceptions. This is another exception. Ha! More nutty notes are creeping in now. Well done, Prairie Fire!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
