Served on-tap at City Beverage (Food Truck Festival) in Winston-Salem, NC
A: Pours a hazy light to medium golden yellow in color with light amounts of visible carbonation and some apricot + peach highlights. The beer has a finger tall sudsy foamy white head that slowly reduces to a thick film covering the majority of the surface of the beer with a thin film covering the remainder and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of freshly opened cucumbers (you know that aroma when you first cut open the cucumber from the insides) and lighter hints of peppery yeast.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of pale malts with light hints of peppery yeast. There is a slight note of hay but that is quickly overtaken by light to moderate flavors of fresh cucumber. Minimal amounts of bitterness in the finish.
M: On the lighter side of medium bodied with light to moderate amounts of carbonation. Just hints of dryness towards the finish.
O: This is a tough beer to review having had and enjoyed the CCB similar beer several times recently. I thought that the aroma on this beer was probably my favorite part since it was so similar to cutting open a fresh cuke. The flavor was light and pleasant, hiding the alcohol well, and the beer was refreshing/easy to drink. A nice offering for the hot NC summer.
