Reviewed from long-standing notes. Poured from a 32 oz. swing-top growler into a Cigar City snifter.
A: Lightly hazy gold, with 1 1/2 finger's worth of white head with good retention for a hoppy beer. Average visible carbonation.
S: Citrus rind, tropical fruits, and light cracker malt. Nothing exciting nor off-putting here.
T: Tropical fruits, melon, some dank and some orange zest. Light cracker malt body. Finishes with melon hops and dank bitterness.
M: Average weight to the body for an American IPA but still manages a crisp mouthfeel. The alcohol content is well-hidden. Good carbonation sensation, especially for a growler serving.
O: I thought this was good - the setup of the malt bill and letting the hops run the show. Likely not my personal preference in hop profile though. Unless you're a big IPA ticker, there's likely an IPA (or multiples) on the shelves near you that are equally as good, if not better. But I wouldn't hesitate to order another one if I saw it around on tap.
