Pours pitch black. Not much had even with a ruff poor.
Smell is a little roast but nothing crazy. Maybe some raisins.
Flavor is roast chocolate and raisins or plum. Nothing over powers. Pretty good RIS that hide the alcohol well

Vibrant black with a tall frothy mocha foam settling to a bubbly collar and thin film.
Nutty, roasty yet sweet at first, it transitions to savory shortly after. Popinski has a slight astringency to the start, but that fades into dark chocolate, wafer and malted milk balls in the middle. The medium-light body has a soft froth that develops a grounding smoky charred coffee bean towards the finish, which is barely sticky--another surprise on top of the minimal sweetness--swallowing semi-dry.
This is a very solid base, serving their many confectionery exploits well.
