Barrel-Aged No Promises is a dessert ale aged in bourbon barrels with a touch of coconut and vanilla beans added. This beer sat in barrels for 18 months and the time spent has done wonders for this beer. It is definitely barrel forward and gives off Madeira and Tawny Port notes.
Misspelled 'Desert Ale' on label.

Sweet. Tons of chocolate and some coconut. Barely any alcohol heat. It has no head whatsoever.

Syrupy black with burnt red edges and no head.
Smell is wet graham and wafer with sticky marshmallowy barrel, Port and nougat.
Taste starts off as toasty toffee and caramel with a rich milk chocolate and coconut combo that flexes that Samoa muscle. Sweetness is the name of the game as this continues teasing the palate with a diabetic coma, adding candied nuts, maple, cherry and a hint of grapes.
Slick, thin and really sticky, there's still a firm round fizz in the middle, while the finish is dry.
Sweetness incarnate! If you showed up for the "Dessert Ale" listed on the label, you got your money's worth.
