Into a wine glass at a share. This was sticky and full with a lingering sweetness. Thought it could’ve been had a little better flavor though, maybe it was just the barrels.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from a 750 mL bottle into an El Catador Barrel-Aged glass.
A: Very dark brown to black, opaque. This even looks thick. Forms a half-finger of tan head that fades off to a ring of foam. A low amount of visible carbonation.
S: Oddly, walnuts are indeed most prominent. Like crushed walnut shells, and they come through clear as day. Then the expected chocolate and bourbon, cinnamon broom and roasted malts. Less vanilla and oak to me. Significant sweetness is obvious even on the nose, but there's enough walnuts and cinnamon to keep it away from sickly sweet territory. This smells amazing. I was gonna say balanced, but maybe complex is a better word - it lets each additive come through.
T: Dark chocolate and vanilla. Bourbon and oak with dry tannins. Dark roasted malts with some bitterness, followed up by the dry cinnamon mixed with the walnut flavor again. The cinnamon and vanilla mix together on the exhale after the swallow.
M: The standard Angry Chair thick sticky body – love it or hate it, they do that as well as anybody. The alcohol is obvious but not at all over-bourboned, so to speak. Carbonation sensation is low but as expected.
O: Really enjoyable. The chocolate balances with vanilla, and the cinnamon and walnut (as unbelievable as I thought that was as an adjunct) really pull through and add the “un-sweet” counterpoint that this beer really needed to have in my opinion. It’s still sweet, but stays away from cloying. More like a nutty semi-sweet dessert. The bourbon is fairly low here…it’s not absent, but this isn’t big and boozy. I liked it every bit as much as the BAIGCCS b1 bottle we split. The flavors are more balanced to me. Really enjoyable.
