Tootsie Rolls and Rolos meet mature, charred oak...and chocolate cake gets dunked with a substantial bourbon character before a paper dry finish. A crisp carbonation lifts the sticky, slick medium-light body and wow, with a woody, sassafras and brandy exhale, this is delish.
A lot of people at Super Rad were talking down on this beer because it wasn't overly pastry-fied and had a substantial barrel presence, but I found this to be a very well made barrel-aged stout with loads of complexity, and I wish I could dig into it in a calmer setting.
