I decided to start today drinking Nameless, an oatmeal stout. I am using a tulip glass and serving the beer at 44 degrees. The pour created a frothy, creamy, one-fingered, tan head with fair retention. The somewhat slow dissipation left no lacing on the glass. The beer's color charts at SRM 34 are dark brown, nearly black, and opaque. The appearance of the beer is average.
Nosing the glass, I smell hazelnuts, more hazelnuts, coffee, vanilla, chocolate, and roasted malts. Smelling the glass again, I notice caramel, molasses, toffee, toasted bread, malty sweetness, and earthiness. The beer has a subtle char note at the end.
The first sip is chocked full of hazelnuts; however, the overload is manageable (I'm not too fond of hazelnuts in drinks, which says a lot). The nuttiness is toasty, leading into the coffee, chocolate, malty sweetness, vanilla, bready cereal grains, caramel, and toffee. As I sip the beverage and ponder, I notice earthy dirt, roasted notes with a bit of char and bitterness, lightly floral, and treacle.
The mouthfeel is chewy and creamy, finishing smooth. The body is heavy and has low carbonation.
When I realized the beer had hazelnuts, I kept pushing past it for a different beer in the cellar. Thus, I have had it for a long time. Drinks with this nut tend to be cumbersome and chemically processed. Although this beer has a lot of nuts, it is a delightfully delicious sipper.

Poured a black body with minimal head and lace down the glass. Aroma struck me as hazelnut, not necessarily hazelnut liqueur but just hazelnut. Smooth, silky smooth even, hazelnut praline taste with a strong nutty presence in an easy drinking body with a vanilla cream finish that adds some balance for an enjoyable beer.
